Entrepreneurial Development Challenge

Entrepreneurial Development Challenge is a youth business empowerment program implemented for grade 11 and grade 12 learners, with the aim of developing their entrepreneurial, financial, marketing and philanthropic skills and abilities. Participants are team up in five, and given opportunity to write and present business proposal. The best selected proposals are funded to start small businesses which operate within their school premises and compete with other teams in the challenge. The program is co-ordinated by Thabang waga Tjale (Mentor, author and Accounting Science student at UNISA) and therefore sponsored by National Youth Development Agency.

Literature Workshop

Inability to write and creatively express the practice of art has been a major challenge in historically disadvantaged communities, due to lack of access to arts information and available resources. Therefore Literature Development is a creative writing empowerment programme which aims at developing young writers' ability to write novels, dramas, folktales and poems. We host literature workshops in disadvantaged communities and also grant opportunity to most promising writers by getting their rough work edited by professionals and published without incurring any cost. The program is co-ordinated by Omphile L Ledwaba (Author) and Mentored by Tiego P Tjale (Actor, co-author of Todi ya Batlogolo "CAPS" and Chairman at Tiego Creative Writers). Program is proudly sponsored by National Arts Council of South Africa.

Alumni Associations Recruitment

UCDC introduce and recruit alumni associations in secondary schools and FET Colleges within South Africa. The aim of the program is to support South African educational development by uniting former matriculated students of the schools and assist them to recruit alumni associations. These are the people who know the educational experience and other challenges the schools are going through. We are giving them an opportunity to change the situation and build better future for South African new generation with available information, knowledge and resources. The program is co-ordinated by Nkoana P Raphala (Mentor, Executive Secretary at UCDC and Tourism Development student at University of Johannesburg).
